The terms RDS and VPN are widely used in the corporate world and are used daily by employees for their work. Remote Desktop Services (RDS) is a Microsoft Windows server component that allows users to access a server with applications and data over a network using the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
With a VPN connection, for example, a user can access the company’s network from home. In general, VPN refers to a Virtual Private Network that is used to connect the user of a network to another network.
